(12 marks)

As our world today is facing technological advancement, it is easier for us to copy anything in the internet to our own copy without any authorization. These are four of the ethical issues affected by advance technology.
Copyright is a form of legal protection afforded an expression of an idea, such as songs, video games, and some types of proprietary documents. For instance, artist A composes a song and artist B wanted to steal or sing his song, Artist A can sue artist B because the song is copyrighted under her name. This means that the copyright itself protects the ownership of the owner’s idea, property and etc.
Pirated Software is the unauthorized use, duplication, distribution or sale of copyrighted software. For example, many students nowadays use pirated Operating Software (OS) in their laptops; they are using it to avoid paying high price software. However, this pirated OS does not work as proper as the genuine one.
Counterfeit Software is software that is manufactured to look like the real thing and sold as such. Counterfeit software is almost the same like pirated software only that sometimes, users themselves do not know that they have subscribed or use this counterfeit software as they are not aware of it due to fraud done by the service provider in order to induce the customer into sale.
Intellectual Property is tangible creative work that is embodied in physical form such as symbol, tagline, and etc. Intellectual property may be stolen or used by unethical party to benefit from the existing popularity or prosperity of that intellectual property. For example, company A is using KFC name in order to collect fund. People may believe that KFC holdings is having a fund raising activity to collect fund for charity and donate their money. However, the money is channeled to company A for their own good.
